Parenting Adolescents

The term adolescence comes from the Latin word meaning “to grow.”  So, are you ready to be an adolescent parent; or, a parent ready to grow?  The period of adolescence is a transitional stage of physical and mental change in a young person life.  Puberty traditionally occurs during the onset of adolescence.  Young teenagers are often referred to as adolescents.

Parenting an adolescent makes some parents begin to feel anxious, uncertain and even inept.  The fact is, it’s human nature to grow and become independent.  Parents who embrace this concept, the concept of adolescence and growth, generally have an easier, more enjoyable parenting experience.
