Talking about your dreams, goals, and aspirations is always
great fun and a piece of cake.
However, actually achieving goals, dreams and aspirations is somewhat a different matter.
TALKING A GOOD GAME
For any of our goals to be realized and fulfilled they have to be built on the solid foundations of ACTION rather than idle small talk!!!
Every one of us is great at talking the talk, but how many of us actually walk the walk
As the Jewish Proverb goes:
“Do not be wise in words – be wise in deeds.”
Other great quotes include one from ‘Revivalist and author Dr Vance Havner-
“The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps – we must step up the stairs.”
And another from Peter Marshall the famous English philosopher-
“Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned.”
Talk is easy. Planning is easy. Making promises is easy.
But it’s the Doing what we talk about, the Actioning of our plans and the Keeping to our Promises and Commitments which are the tough parts.
OLD HABITS DIE HARD
I personally see it every pre-season with some of the players I coach.
They turn up really inspired, motivated and ready to take on the world, but by the time the summer’s over and the nights start getting cold, wet and misearable all that has disappeared without trace and the bad old attitudes are back!
I’ve also seen this happening on the numerous motivational and self improvement seminars I’ve attended over the years where the life-long dream or millionaire lifestyle is continually promoted.
Everyone who’s there is pumped up and champing at the bit to realize their dreams, but the moment they leave, their enthusiasm has waned, life gets in the way and their dreams and desires are left at the venue never to be actioned again.
Talk is cheap. Really cheap
AN UNSTOPPABLE COMBINATION
We can excuse children and teenagers for showing a ‘give up’ attitude, when things get a little difficult or boring for them. They are still to learn the harsh, tough lessons of life.
But with us adults there should be no such excuse.
We all know that anything worth having and achieving requires discipline, dedication, effort and action on our part.
Don’t get me wrong, talking, planning and making promises are some of the essential first steps to achieving goals and getting what you want, but without actioning them they are simply worthless.
As you may have guessed, I’m a huge proponent of action to realize any goals.
However I would like to mention some other powerful techniques that I use every day to turbo charge my progress.
What are these you ask?
Well simply they are the techniques of affirmations and visualization.
Repeatedly affirming positive suggestions, and visualizing yourself celebrating victory and success in advance can and will bring the realization of your goals a lot quicker and easier.
These techniques are extremely powerful in instructing and encouraging the universe and your subconscious mind to bring you the people, events and circumstances that will help you realize your goals and desires so much quicker and easier.
When setting any goals be inspired and motivated to achieve them.
Goals are worthless when you just talk, plan and dream about them.
But when you combine the talking, planning and dreaming with inspired actions and the power of the universe, you have in your possession an unstoppable, unfailing combination.
Your future is there for you. Get out there and claim it!!!!!
