Any parent see Blue October Band’s – Into the Ocean. It seems it is now my 12 year old sons favorite song. I am just wondering do we react to favorite songs, let it go, is it a problem?

Some of the text (lyrics) bother me.

While raising three children, I heard numerous questionable lyrics come from songs being being played in our home by my children, or children’s friends. I always took time to politely, but seriously share that “these words are not appropriate in our home.” When/if my child responded with, “Oh, it’s not that bad,” I responded by saying, “We all live here and no one living hear should have to feel uncomfortable listening to questionable song lyrics. If the challenged continued, I responded by saying, “If that song is allowed to be played in your school then you can play it here.” That responce always ended any argument.

    Great question!!!
